Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Sara Curran

I began teaching in District 308 in 2000.  I have taught 4th grade at East View, The Wheatlands, and Homestead elementary schools during my teaching career.  I have also served as a Gifted Education TOSA (instructional coach) at Fox Chase, Grande Park, Southbury, and Churchill elementary schools.  I love working with the staff, students, and parents at District 308 schools.

I attended Eastern Illinois University in Charleston and graduated in 2000 with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education.  Shortly thereafter, I received my middle school math endorsement.  I earned a master’s degree in curriculum and instruction from Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais in 2007.  In 2008, I became a National Board certified teacher as well.  In 2013, I earned my administrative endorsement from Olivet Nazarene University.  I attained my gifted teacher endorsements in 2014.  In 2017, I earned a doctoral degree in curriculum and instruction at Northern Illinois University in DeKalb.

In addition to my regular school day activities, I enjoy serving on curricular, school improvement, and intervention team committees.  I have also taught writing methods courses for the University of St. Francis in Joliet.
