Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Lisa Butkus

I am a third grade teacher at The Wheatlands. I come from a long line of teachers that have taught in Oswego since the 1860s! I am a proud graduate of School District 308. I received my bachelor’s degree in elementary education at Augustana College, in Rock Island, Ill. I have my master’s in reading instruction from Aurora University, in Aurora, Ill.

I am passionate about working with children and teaching. I taught third grade for seven years at The Wheatlands. Then, I had an amazing opportunity to be the district’s full-release mentor for new teachers for four years. In 2013, I was fortunate to come back as a third grade classroom teacher.  I feel privileged to work with the staff and families at The Wheatlands, and I am looking forward to a great year.
