Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Jessica Seiple
I was the library media specialist at The Wheatlands. I am very excited to be your child`s teacher in the learning resource center.
I attended the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, where I obtained a bachelor’s degree in human development and family studies in 1998. Continuing on with my concentration in child and adolescent development, I decided to pursue a career in education. I received a bachelor's degree in elementary education in 2000 from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb. My first teaching job was in Elgin School District U46 as a first and second grade teacher. In 2002, I joined The Wheatlands staff as a second grade teacher. I earned my master's degree in curriculum and instruction in 2005 from Rockford University, in Rockford, Ill. I received my certification as a library information specialist in 2007 from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb.
I am passionate about my job and being able to share great books with students. My focus is to foster a love of reading in my students and to help them develop technology skills and research strategies.
