Mrs. Nannette Duym

Hello Brokaw Families!

My name is Nannette Duym and I am one of the cross-categorical teachers at Brokaw Early Learning Center. This is my fourteenth year teaching, and my ninth year at Brokaw. I received my bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Special Education from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, and completed my English as a Second Language Endorsement from Northern Illinois University as well. Prior to Brokaw, I taught in Naperville Districts 203 and 204, Yorkville District 115, and worked as a developmental therapist for Early Intervention. I have taught in both blended and instructional preschool classrooms; however the majority of my experience has been working with young children with significant developmental delays, children on the autism spectrum, and/or medically fragile students. I have an extensive amount of experience and training in ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) techniques, as well as using multi-modal communication systems/strategies, sensory strategies, and embedding direct teaching into age and developmentally-appropriate exploratory play. I am looking forward to a wonderful school year!
