Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Michelle Brucher
This is my second year teaching at Brokaw Early Learning Center. I graduated from Aurora University, in Aurora, Ill., with a bachelor’s degree in commercial recreation. I worked for Marriott for two years as an activities coordinator. I then took a position with the River Forest Community Center as an after-school coordinator and preschool teacher. I grew to love my job as a preschool teacher and began attending school to get my teaching certificate. While I attended National Louis University, Chicago, I worked as a preschool teaching assistant in School District 204. Upon completion of my master’s degree in early childhood education with a special education endorsement, I became an early childhood teacher in District 204.
Once I had my son, I stayed home and sought out part-time work with The Kendall County Special Education Cooperative as a preschool screening facilitator. As my son grew older I started back to work full time as an early childhood teacher in School District 88. While working at Plano, I completed my English as a second language endorsement through Northern Illinois University, DeKalb. After five years of working in Plano’s program I transferred to Brokaw Early Learning Center.
I enjoy working at Brokaw Early Learning Center and feel the mission at Brokaw is similar to my mission as a teacher. Through teaching I place emphasis on encouraging the development of the whole child while fostering a love for learning.
