Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Alicia Hansen
I joined Brokaw Early Learning Center in 2008 after being a stay-at-home mom for three years. Prior to staying at home, I worked for two years in District U-46 as a blended pre-kindergarten teacher and two years in District 202 as a blended pre-kindergarten teacher. Since being at Brokaw and District 308, I have served on the special education audit committee, been trained to help lead the district in a Professional Learning Community, and served on the building leadership team. In addition, I have actively served on our community committee and curriculum committee.
I received my teaching degree from Western Illinois University, Macomb, Ill., in 2000. I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, with an endorsement in Special Education and a minor in sociology. I recently went back to college at National Louis University, Chicago, where I am studying English as a second language. I received my endorsement in 2014 and was honored to receive an invitation into the National Society of Leadership and Success. In the summer of 2017, I received my master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from National Louis University.
I love watching children grow and develop during their preschool years and feel fortunate to be a part of that experience, while working alongside parents and families.
