Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Rachel Cirone
Hello!!! My name is Rachel Cirone, and I have been teaching at the Brokaw Early Learning Center since its opening in 2007! We have a lot of fun and exciting activities planned for this school year!!! To tell you a bit about myself:
I attended Northern Illinois University, where I received a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education with an endorsement in special education and a Bachelor’s degree in Communication Disorders with a Psychology minor. I have also completed an endorsement in English as a Second Language and in gifted education to better meet my diverse students’ needs. Before coming to Brokaw, I have worked as a preschool teacher, an assistant director, and a preschool program specialist for several years. I have also taught several undergraduate courses in early childhood education at Kishwaukee College. I am also Nationally Board Certified in Early Childhood Education.
I’m originally from Chicago. I have lived in Oswego since 2007 with my husband, Dominick, son, Luca, and daughter, Nadia. We also share our home with three dogs, a gerbil, and a bearded dragon. When I’m not working on school projects, I enjoy visiting the zoo, attending museum exhibits, exploring nature, and relaxing with friends and family.
