Degrees and Certifications:

Miss Cynthia Zack

I received a bachelor’s degree in middle level education from Illinois State University with endorsements in math and science. I attended Aurora University where I earned a master’s degree in educational leadership. Since then I have continued my education and earned 45-plus hours past my master’s degree.

I currently teach 7th grade science and 7th grade math at Traughber Junior High School. I have written grant proposals to fund the Traughber Habitat Project. We have been awarded Schoolyard Habitat Action grants from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service.

My first grade teacher inspired me to pursue education. I was fortunate to volunteer in her classroom when I was in high school, and the experience solidified my decision to become a teacher. Her passion for teaching, the excitement she built in the classroom, and her positive outlook is what I strive for today.
