This year marks my 23rd as a teacher. I have a master’s degree in reading from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb. I also have a degree in special education from Western Illinois University, Macomb, with an emphasis on learning disabilities and social/emotional disorders. Some additional areas I have completed coursework in include reading strategies, differentiation, multiculturalism, gifted students, Asperger’s, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). I have worn many hats in education. Prior to coming to fourth grade, I was a second grade teacher, kindergarten teacher, reading specialist, and special education teacher at the elementary and middle school levels.   I’m looking forward to a fabulous fourth grade year.
