Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Cindy Niles
My teaching career began at East View Elementary School in 1999 and continues at Prairie Point Elementary today. In December 1998 I received a bachelor’s degree in education with an area of concentration in both social sciences and language arts at Western Illinois University, Macomb. From there I pursued a master’s degree in education through National Louis University, Chicago, and completed this degree in June 2002. In August 2003, I was granted a master’s in educational leadership through Aurora University, in Aurora, Ill., and I continue my professional development learning opportunities today.
Having taught fourth grade for most of my career, I have had the opportunity to connect with many diverse, wonderful students and their families throughout the area. Throughout my many years as a teacher in School District 308, I have written many grants for technology, reading, social studies and food resources. These grants have greatly advanced our students’ knowledge. Another one of my accomplishments that has benefited our students is the after-school running club, which has grown to over 80 fourth and fifth grade students. I am so lucky and blessed to be doing something that I love. I look forward to many more years of powerful teaching experiences with my students at Prairie Point.
