Degrees and Certifications:
Ms. Jennifer Gordon
In 2006 I graduated from Northern Illinois University where I received my Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Textiles, Apparel and Merchandising. After working in the Retail Industry for 4 years, I decided to pursue my teaching certificate. In 2010 I received my Type 09 Secondary Education Teaching Certificate from Northern Illinois University with endorsements in Family and Consumer Science, Business Marketing and Computers as well as Cooperative Education. I taught at Lake Park High School in the Career and Technical Education department for one year before coming to Oswego High School. I have been at Oswego High School since 2012, and I love being part of such a wonderful Panther family.
In June of 2016 I received my Master’s of Arts in Educational Technology through Concordia University. My goal as a teacher is to continue to educate myself and improve my techniques and strategies in the classroom to keep my students engaged. I find satisfaction in students learning skills they can transfer to their everyday lives and future careers.
I have taught various classes in the Career and Technical Education department including: Business Law, Child Development, Consumer Education, Culinary Arts & Nutrition, and W.A.V.E. 2. I am excited to take on a new role this year as the Interrelated Cooperative Education Coordinator here at OHS. My role will be to guide Seniors in various employment experiences and opportunities in the world of work. I look forward to the challenge and seeing my Seniors grow over the coming years.
