I attended Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, where I received my bachelor's degree in elementary education, with junior high endorsements in language arts and mathematics. In 2007 I earned a master's degree in educational leadership from the University of St. Francis, Joliet, Ill., and in 2011 I received an English as a second language endorsement from the University of St. Francis.

I began my teaching career in District 308 in 1999 at East View Elementary. As the district grew I transferred to help open The Wheatlands, Lakewood Creek, and Grande Park elementary schools. I taught third grade for 16 years before becoming the Literacy Specialist at Grande Park.  I am looking forward to continuing in this role this year.
