Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. Troy Parlier
I’m very happy to be teaching at Thompson Junior High School. I attended Bradley University in Peoria, Ill., and received a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering technology. Teaching is my second career. I worked in the financial industry for 20 years and then went back to school and received a master’s degree in teaching from Aurora University, in Aurora, Ill. Following that I worked at Burlington Central Middle School for seven years, teaching sixth, seventh, and eighth grade math and honors math. I recently received a second master’s degree in educational leadership from Concordia University.
I believe it is very important to create a link between the classroom and the real world. I look forward to sharing the real-world experience I’ve accumulated in my professional career in the financial industry with the students at Thompson.
