Degrees and Certifications:
Dr. Judy Wilson
I am the School Psychologist here at Thompson. I completed my undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois-Chicago and went on to get my doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the Illinois School of Professional Psychology. I worked in private practice for years when my own children were little but then decided I would like to work in the schools. I went back to school at National Louis University to complete my Education Specialist certification and then was fortunate enough to get the position here at Thompson.
I absolutely love being here. My job here is working with students to make sure they are placed in the right classes so they are learning to the best of their abilities. I am also involved in many teams including intervention teams, truancy, leadership and Character Counts. I believe every student has the ability to learn and deserves to have every opportunity to grow into a well-rounded, successful individual. My favorite part of working here is watching how students come to us in 6th grade and change and grow so much by the time they are saying goodbye to us on their way to high school.
