Welcome to Honors English I! I am looking forward to a successful year with each and every one of my students. I hope that everyone is excited!

This is beginning my 18th year of teaching. I graduated from Concordia University, in River Forest, Ill., in 2002 with my bachelor’s degree in secondary education and an endorsement for middle school language arts. Upon graduation, I taught for two years at Trinity Lutheran School in Lansing, Ill., where I was responsible for sixth, seventh, and eighth grade language arts. I then moved into the public sector and joined the Bednarcik staff in 2004. I received my master`s degree in reading and instruction from Aurora University, Aurora, Ill., in 2008 and my gifted endorsement in 2015. While at Bednarcik I have taught sixth and seventh grade language arts, sixth grade honors language arts, reading dynamics, study dynamics and now eighth grade Pre-AP English I. I continue to take classes because, as I tell my students, we are always learning, and I can't imagine a day when I wasn't learning something new!
