Mrs. Colleen Calvey
English Department Chair
I earned my bachelor’s degree from Grand Valley State University, Allendale, Mich., where I double majored in English language and literature and history with an emphasis in secondary education. In 2009 I received my master’s degree in educational leadership from Governors State University, Chicago. in 2020 I received a second master's degree in instructional design from Western Governors University, Utah.
Prior to joining the Oswego East High School (OEHS) English department in 2004, I taught journalism and sophomore English in Michigan. The journalism class was responsible for the high school and middle school yearbook as well as a school-community newspaper that was published biweekly.
At OEHS I’ve taught English, Honors English, British Literature, Humanities Honors and Yearbook Journalism. I advise the award-winning Wolf’s Eye yearbook, and I sponsor the National Honor Society and Senior Class.
