Mrs. Brandy Gossett

Math Teacher

I have wanted to become a teacher since I was in grade school, and I have always loved math. In addition, I enjoy helping others and witnessing people grasp concepts. As a result, I pursued a career in teaching. I attended Aurora University, in Aurora, Ill., where I received my bachelor’s degree in math and secondary education with a middle school Math Endorsement. Therefore, I am certified to teach grades six through 12. I became a math teacher at Oswego East High School (OEHS) in 2004. This is my 17th year teaching math at OEHS. Throughout my 16 years as a Wolf, I have taught algebra, geometry, pre-calculus, and honors pre-calculus. While teaching, I decided to further my education by completing my master’s degree in curriculum and instruction at Northern Illinois University, DeKalb. I have also completed additional master’s courses through the University of La Verne, in La Verne, Calif.

In addition to teaching at OEHS, I was an assistant girls basketball coach for seven years. I am also a co-sponsor for the Mu Alpha Theta Math Honor Society. My experience in the teaching and coaching field has been enjoyable and rewarding thus far.
