Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Diane Ericson
I am thrilled to be starting my sixth year as part of the Special Education team at Lakewood Creek Elementary School!
Once upon a time...I graduated from Illinois State University, Normal, with a degree in Special Education and went on to earn a master’s degree from Northeastern Illinois University, Chicago. I began my teaching career with Maine Township High School District 207 and very much enjoyed my 14 years with my students and colleagues there. After a few years at home to raise my 3 kids, I gradually returned to the classroom by first substitute teaching. In 2012 I joined the staff at Old Post Elementary, where I taught part-time as a Learning Behavior Specialist for two years before coming to Lakewood Creek. I continue to take classes to foster my love of learning and to better my skills as a teacher. I live in District 308 with my husband, Jamie, and one of our three children. I love to spend my time outdoors-hiking, kayaking, walking, gardening, exploring new places, etc. and hope to live in the mountains some day! But in the interim, I am loving spending my time with the students and families at Lakewood Creek! I look forward to an awesome year!
