Mrs. Grigsby

Welcome to Kindergarten at Lakewood Creek Elementary!

I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself.  My name is Shelley Grigsby and this is my fifth year as a full time teacher at Lakewood Creek Elementary.  I attended Aurora University in Aurora, IL.   I received my bachelor’s degree in elementary education, with middle school endorsements in Social Science and Language Arts. I have a Master's degree in Best Practices from University of St. Francis. My professional career began the fall of 2011 where I  taught preschool in Oswego for the full school year.  I was a substitute for two years within Oswego school district 308.  I then became a teacher assistant the following year, at Plank Jr. High in Oswego.  I have vested many years within district 308 as a volunteer, substitute, teacher assistant, and now a full time teacher here at Lakewood Creek!

I am very excited for this school year.  It will be an exciting time of learning and growth.  I believe that every child regardless of their ability is gifted and can succeed.  Children need to be challenged with engaging and meaningful lessons in order to develop confidence and motivation to be a successful learner.  Therefore, my goal is to do what is best for each child in class and provide a caring and positive environment.  I anticipate a wonderful school year and look forward to working with your child!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Shelley Grigsby
