Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Marla Szymborski
I graduated from Illinois State University, Normal, in 2004 with a degree in elementary education with a specialization in reading. I taught third grade in Lemont for five years and then I taught third and fourth grade in Plainfield for six years. At this point I decided to go back to school to further my education. I received a master’s degree in literacy with English as a second language (ESL) endorsement from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb. For the past six years I have been an ESL teacher in School District 308. I have worked in many elementary schools throughout the district, and now I am excited to be at Lakewood Creek Elementary School. I love what I do and am thrilled to be a part of the Lakewood Creek family.
