Degrees and Certifications:
Dr. Tracy Zalud
Welcome to the 2021-22 school year! I am so excited to begin my 12th year of teaching, all of which have been in SD308. I taught second grade for five years, third grade for three years, kindergarten for one year, and fourth and fifth grade gifted education math for three years. In May 2020, I earned my Doctorate degree from Aurora University in Curriculum & Instruction. I have a Master's degree in Elementary Education from Aurora University and a Bachelor's degree in Child Development from Illinois State University. I earned National Board Certification in 2015 and the Gifted Education Endorsement in 2014.
I am the Gifted Education Math teacher for fourth and fifth grades at Hunt Club Elementary School (A.M.) and Homestead Elementary School (P.M.). My passion is creating math learning experiences that help my students develop their capacity for logic, problem-solving, critical thinking, and creativity in an innovative and collaborative learning environment. I want my students to be full of wonder and experience mathematics as fascinating, challenging, and fun!
