Degrees and Certifications:

Mrs. Tracy Zalud

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year at Long Beach Elementary School! I am so excited to begin my 10th year of teaching, all of which have been in SD308. I graduated from Illinois State University in 1992 with a B.S. in Child Development and earned an M.A. in Elementary Education from Aurora University in 2009. Currently, I am pursuing a doctorate degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Aurora University and expect to defend my dissertation and graduate in 2020. In 2015, I earned National Board Certification and in 2017, obtained the Gifted Education Endorsement.

Previously, I taught second grade for five years and third grade for three years at Churchill Elementary School. I began working at Long Beach and Boulder Hill last year as a Gifted Education Math Teacher/Gifted Education TOSA working with all grade levels for math enrichment. My position this year at Long Beach is twofold. I am the Gifted Education teacher for fourth and fifth grade math in the mornings and a kindergarten teacher (math and science) in the afternoons. Mrs. Elizabeth Palatine and I job share the same kindergarten class. I am very excited to work with 4th and 5th graders as well as Kindergarteners! It's going to be a great year!
