Welcome to second grade!

I attended the University of Iowa, Iowa City, IA where I received my bachelor’s degree in elementary education with specializations in reading and language arts in 1996. I also completed a master's degree in reading education from Concordia University, Chicago in 2016. Previously, I have taught ELL, reading, and kindergarten in Darien, IL before taking time off to stay home with my own children.  I started working in SD308 in 2008 as a teaching assistant at East View and was part of the staff at Hunt Club the year it opened.  I also covered some leaves at that time.  In 2011, I started teaching 2nd grade at Churchill.  The following year, I looped up to third grade with my class. I taught 3rd grade at Churchill for 9 years. I am so excited to be back at Hunt Club teaching 2nd grade. 2nd grade is such a great year of growth and excitement. I am passionate about helping each of my students reach their highest potential and maintain their enthusiasm for learning and school. It's going to be a great year!
