I am very excited to begin my 26th year as a music teacher and my 13th year at Churchill. I am also very passionate about character education and currently lead the Character Counts! Coalition of Oswego and Montgomery.
Ever since I was in elementary school I wanted to be a music teacher. I attended Cedarville University, in Cedarville, Ohio, where I received my bachelor’s degree in K-12 music education with an emphasis on general and vocal music and a second major in communication arts. In 2009, I also earned my master’s degree in educational administration from Governor’s State University, Chicago.
My favorite thing is watching elementary students engage in and enjoy new musical experiences as they find out that they have talents and abilities that they didn’t know about before! It is so fun to see students become successful musicians.
I have created another site for Churchill Music with a page for each grade level that will give students and parents more information about what we are currently studying, assignments, resources and more. Please visit this site at Churchill Music.
