Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Julie Kreitzer
I graduated cum laude from Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, where I earned my elementary education degree. I began my teaching career at Mooseheart Elementary, teaching full-day kindergarten for five years and earning the 110 percent award for student high achievement. I then joined School District 308m teaching second grade. After completing my graduate degree at St. Xavier University, Chicago, in educational teacher leadership, I taught in a second and third grade multi-age classroom. I furthered my graduate studies at National Louis University, Chicago, by earning my reading recovery certification, attended St. Francis University, in Joliet, Ill., to earn my reading specialist certification and Aurora University, in Aurora, Ill., to earn my administrative certification. I enjoyed several years as a reading specialist, reading coordinator, and teaching at the graduate level for both Aurora University and St. Francis University.
I feel very blessed to be teaching first grade and watching students grow daily. Teaching is a career that is full of joys, laughter and daily surprises. There is nothing more rewarding and uplifting than watching a student accomplish something that he or she first thought impossible. I couldn’t think of anything I would rather be doing!
