Mrs. Toia Jones

Principal

I am proud to serve as principal of Boulder Hill Elementary School. I bring over 20 years of experience in the field of education to Boulder Hill. My experience includes five years as principal in SD308, three years as a middle school assistant principal, four years as a middle school dean of students, and 11 years as a classroom or resource teacher at the elementary level. In addition I have served as an educational consultant with the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and as a graduate level course instructor for Pearson.

I earned my bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Southern Illinois University, Carbondale, with a minor in psychology. I earned my master’s degree in teaching and learning along with my administration certification from Saint Xavier University, Chicago.

I hope to continue with the wonderful traditions that have been established at Boulder Hill and to create new and innovative memories that may one day become great Boulder Hill traditions. I am excited to be a Bobcat!  We A.R.E. Boulder Hill!

Mrs. Kristen Salwierak

Assistant Principal

I am so happy to be joining the SD 308 family. I have a Bachelor of Arts from Governors State University, University Park, a Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction, Concordia University, and a Second Master's in Educational Leadership, Governors State University. Previously, I was an Assistant Principal at the middle school level, Middle School Dean of Students, served as an Instructional Coach, and also taught in the classroom for 10 years. I  originally started at the elementary school and then served at middle school. 
 
The favorite thing about my job is our students! I absolutely love welcoming them every morning, connecting with them throughout the day, and supporting them in any way I can. I look forward to building up our school community and am excited to promote a positive learning culture.
 
One of my favorite quotes is, ‘It is in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped,’ by Tony Robbins. I plan on bringing this thinking with me to Boulder Hill Elementary as I support students, staff and families in their learning experiences.
