Degrees and Certifications:
I attended Arizona State University where I received my Bachelors Degree in Secondary Education Mathematics. While at ASU, I completed my clinical experience teaching a variety of middle school and high school math courses including Algebra, Geometry, Mathematics Functions, and Calculus. I also was a math tutor at ASU's University Academic Success Center for three years. After graduation, I taught Algebra 1 and Algebra 2 at Mountain Pointe High School located in Phoenix, Arizona.
Now back in Illinois, I am proud to be a Panther! I teach Algebra 1 and Algebra 1 AB in the freshmen wing of the building. As a math teacher, I believe in much more than rote memorization and repetition with procedures. My goal is to provide the support that my students need to develop a deeper understanding of complex mathematical topics while inspiring them to take pride in their unbounded potential to learn. I'd like students to ask questions, settle curiosities, and explore new concepts/interests as they continue their journey as lifelong learners.
