Degrees and Certifications:

Maggie Slinger

I received my bachelor’s degree in social work in 2011 and my master’s degree in social work in 2013 from Aurora University. I worked at the elementary level in school district 202 in Plainfield for the 2012-2013 school year and began working in the Oswego school district at the elementary level as an interim social worker in 2014. From there, I transferred to Plank in November of 2014 to finish out the school year as one of two social workers in the building. I am happy to be returning to Plank this school year! I look forward to working with the students, families, staff, and community of Plank to help students reach success in their education.

I currently work with both general and special education students at the 6th and 7th grade levels. The school social worker role is to help students: understand their self and others, improve interpersonal relationships, develop decision-making skills, and cope with stress and anxiety, as it impacts their learning in the school setting.
