Hi everybody!

I am Tyler VanLandeghem, and I teach in the social studies department. Please call me Mr. Van. It is a whole lot easier than my full name. I teach AP US Government and Politics, AP Comparative Government and Politics, and Civics. I have been teaching since 2011, and I have been a proud Wolf since 2015.

I am a government and politics nerd. I went to Illinois State University to become a history teacher but ended up teaching government at my first school. I learned that government and politics was my passion, and I have the pleasure to teach government and politics at Oswego East. I recently earned a master's degree in political science from University of Illinois Springfield, and I am the sponsor of the Political Action Club at Oswego East. Needless to say, I really enjoy the subject.

Outside of politics, I enjoy motorsports. I am a big fan of Forumla 1 and NASCAR. I watch pretty much every race. I even wake up really early on Sundays to watch F1 live from around the world. There is nothing like attending a race live. I have been to a lot of different tracks around the country and I hope to go to even more.
