Degrees and Certifications:

Mr. Pete Meismer

Hello, my name is Pete Meismer and I am excited to be joining The Wheatlands Elementary staff as a 2nd and 3rd grade teacher in the SKILLS program.  I am happy to be participating in the school’s Building Leadership Team and ACEs team and look forward to getting to know the students and families in our community. I have spent most of the last seven years at Eastview Academy (formerly Opportunity School) teaching kindergarten through high school students. Eastview is the district’s therapeutic day school. I am also fortunate to be one of the district’s NVCI instructors. In this role, I am able to support staff members in how to best de-escalate student behaviors to ensure student safety and allow for maximum learning during the school day. I really enjoy working with other staff in School District 308 to help meet the needs of our students. I have spent time on various district committees and am looking forward to continuing my work as a member of the School and Community Resource Collaborative.

I received my Bachelor’s degree from Northern Illinois University in 2012 and my Master’s degree in Educational Leadership with a Principal endorsement from Aurora University in May of 2019. I live in Oswego with my two kids and wife, who is also a teacher with SD308. I look forward to learning and growing with you this year!
