Degrees and Certifications:
Miss Lisa Circelli
I attended Western Illinois University where I received my bachelor’s degree in elementary education with a specialization in early childhood education. I have also obtained my master’s degree from Benedictine University in reading and literacy. I also received my LBS1-Learning Behavior Specialist certification.
I have taught in kindergarten, first and second grade and pre-kindergarten. Since I joined the Kendall County Special Education Cooperative/School District 308 in the 2005-2006 school year, I’ve taught pre-kindergarten (before Brokaw and beyond) and kindergarten (East View). I helped to start the STARS program eight years ago at Brokaw and taught that program for two years. I taught in the STARS program at the elementary level for a couple years. I am currently a LBS teacher at Southbury in the AM and The Wheatlands in the PM.
I have always wanted to do work with children ever since I can remember. I always found myself rounding up the little kids and teaching school to them. I have worked in day care settings and, while exploring a career, discovered that elementary/early childhood education is what I was looking to pursue. I am very grateful to have worked with all the children and families that I have. In all the experience we have helped each other to grow. No day is ever the same and that helps to keep a fresh outlook and perspective. I love watching the children grow physically, emotionally, intellectually and socially.
