Welcome to Reading!
I attended the University of the Ozarks, Clarksville, in my home state of Arkansas, where I received a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. In 2008, I received a master’s degree in reading from Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais. In 2010, I completed the Gifted Education Seminar through the state of Illinois and received a Gifted Education endorsement. I taught kindergarten in District 308 for seven years at The Wheatlands, Wolf’s Crossing, and Churchill elementary schools. In 2011, I moved to East View Kindergarten Center and made the transition from classroom teacher to reading specialist. In 2017, I completed an endorsement for English as a Second Language. I am excited to serve at Old Post Elementary as a reading specialist.
I love teaching literacy and I believe that creating a love for reading helps children become lifelong learners!
