Degrees and Certifications:
I am excited to be part of SD 308! This is my second year with the district and I work with the STARS program at the early childhood and elementary school levels. I received my bachelor’s degree in special education (LBS1) at Western Illinois University in 2005. I then went on to earn my master’s degree in educational leadership from Aurora University in 2011 and also received my English as a Second Language endorsement from Aurora University as well.
I began my teaching career in Wheaton-Warrenville school district where I taught special education at the elementary level for five years and at the middle school level for two years. I have served as the special education coordinator for the district for five years with their Autism and life skills programs.
I love being a special education administrator because it provides me the opportunity to work with a variety of staff members and families. I enjoy being a support and a leader to help ensure we work together to provide an education based on best practices to meet the individual needs students.
