Principal

This is my 21st year in the education field. I spent the first two year as a substitute teacher before joining the staff of Jefferson Middle School in West Aurora as a career education and technology teacher. After five years of teaching, I began my administrative career as a dean at Jefferson. I am now starting my ninth year at Thompson Junior High. I was an Assistant Principal here for the first five years and start my fourth year as principal this year. I have a bachelor’s degree in history from Western Illinois University and a master’s degree in educational leadership from Aurora University. It is an honor and privilege for me to serve as the leader of the best junior high school around. I am a very proud Tiger and believe we have the best students, parents and staff!

I’m very excited to be starting my first year at Thompson Junior High and sixth within the 308 school district. For the past five years, I was a Dean of Students at Oswego East High School. My journey has granted me the opportunity to work in three states (Missouri, California, and Illinois) and six districts. I began my career teaching mathematics and coaching; but I have also taught physical education. My coaching includes football and wrestling, having served as an assistant coach and head coach in both sports. While in California, I also worked as a high school athletic director. My bachelor’s degree in secondary education was earned from the University of Illinois and my master’s degree in secondary administration was earned from the University of Missouri – St. Louis.

My caseload includes students with the last names that begin M-Z. Please feel free to contact me if you have any concerns or positive thoughts to share. Go Tigers!
