School Social Worker

Hello Everyone!  I am Jackie Weaver and I am a social worker here at East View Academy.  I am excited to join this awesome group of educators and work with this amazing group of students.  I love working as a team and being able to get to know students and their families while learning how we can work together to help empower and encourage students to succeed.

I have been a social worker for 10 years, but this is my first year in the school setting.  I have worked in various capacities with young people ages 14-21, but all of those settings have been in employment or education (both college and k-12).  I believe in meeting every student where they are at and working with your student to set and achieve goals.  I like to use a strengths-based perspective, empathy, understanding, kindness and humor in sessions.  Building relationships with my students and their families is a priority for me.

I received my bachelors degree in psychology from Aurora University, my masters degree in Social Work: Community Organization and Leadership from Aurora University, and my Type 73: School Social Worker Endorsement from Aurora University.
