Ms. Lariza Miravete
I am Lariza Miravete, and this is my first year at Hunt Club Elementary School. I was born and raised in Mexico, and Spanish is my first language. My English instruction started during middle school. I studied in a bilingual school since middle school. I moved to the US twenty-two years ago, and it was not easy to be in a 100% language immersion and for this reason, I value and relate to all the students in the dual-language program.
I have a bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minor in Finance. After I graduated college, I specialized in auditing by working for an accounting firm in Mexico. Then, I moved to Chicago, and I worked for two years for an insurance company in the financial area. I became a stayed home mom for a year to raise my firstborn. After this year, I went back to work as a Spanish teacher in a private learning center where I helped develop the implemented Spanish program this lasted ten years. I started working at SD 308 eight years ago. First as a Bilingual teacher assistant and then as special education TA in the STARS program.
I am a very active person, and I enjoy practicing sports like soccer, running, biking, and many others. My accomplishments in life are my son who is a sophomore at Georgia Tech, and my daughter who is an 8th grader in the Oswego School District. I feel very blessed being part of the Hunt Club family, and l am looking forward to a bright year!
