Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Anne Victory
My name is Anne Victory and this is my first year teaching in my very own classroom. I graduated from Illinois State University in 1999 with my teaching certification. I did a few different things after I graduated and then decided to run a daycare out of my home so that I could stay home with my children.
I’m originally from Wisconsin and hope to someday retire back in my home state. I got married in 2000. My husband and I have 4 children and live in Montgomery.
My oldest son is William (20) and he graduated from Oswego High School. He works full time at Hesed House. My daughter, Mary (18), graduated from OHS and currently attends University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Mary is studying to be an elementary teacher. My son Henry (17) is a junior at OHS and is involved in the the metals program there. My youngest son, George (14), is a freshman at OHS and hopes to try out for the volleyball team.
I was so very thankful to be able to stay home with them. I decided that when George began school full time, I would enter the workforce as a teaching assistant. I was lucky enough be hired at Lakewood Creek Elementary in 2013 and that began my educational career.
I loved being at teaching assistant at Lakewood Creek. It was a wonderful experience for me. I met many wonderful coworkers and many amazing kiddos.
Fast forward to last year...my principal asked if I would be interested in covering a substitute teaching position at Southbury and I said yes! One thing led to another and now here I am, a 2nd grade teacher at Southbury Elementary.
Southbury is a great place to be a teacher. I’m loving my experience so far.
I’ve always wanted to be a teacher...ever since I can remember. I used to play school all by myself in my basement. I had lots of teacher things and I set it up just like a classroom. I watched how my teachers did things and I acted it out in my basement. Playing school would occupy my times for hours.
In my opinion, it’s the greatest profession out there. I love these kiddos as my own and I will do whatever it takes to make sure they feel loved and successful. I’m excited for the 2021-2022 school year and I am thankful for the opportunity to be a 2nd grade teacher to my very first class.
Feel free to reach out to me with any questions or concerns. I believe in open communication between myself and my students’ parents/guardians.
