Degrees and Certifications:

Ms. Rebecca Hauert

I am excited to join the Murphy community teaching 6th and 8th grade science this year! My teaching career began in 2004 as an exchange practicum-teacher in Auckland, New Zealand. After graduating from Trinity International University (Deerfield, IL) with a BA in education K-9, I started teaching 5th grade in the Chicagoland suburbs. I hold a master's degree in curriculum design and have taught all subject areas for 7-9th grade students in Yorkville since 2013. Over the years, my passion for math and science grew and became my favorite subjects to teach! I hold endorsements in language arts, social studies, and science and I love to weave those content areas into my classroom through the use of storytelling, timelines, and history of scientific discoveries. I love to work with my hands and find different ways to make science make sense. My favorite part about teaching science is helping students realize "science" is all around us and they, too, can understand and explore how things work!
