Dear Hunt Club Parents and Guardians,

It has been a wonderful summer, and school is just around the corner!  Hunt Club Elementary School staff will be ready for our students very soon.  We are eager for a strong start to the school year.

Hunt Club would like to officially welcome our new Assistant Principal, Ms. Elisabeth Gillham.  Ms. Gillham has served as an
Assistant Principal at an elementary school near central Illinois for the last 5 years.  Her knowledge and experience in the field of education will be a great asset and we are excited to have her on board.

Classroom assignments for your child(ren) will be available online starting at 4:00 P.M. on Wednesday, August 10.
Go to the
district website at and click on the Home Access button.  You will be asked to enter your login and password for Home Access.  This is the same code you have used in the past, (one per family) to view your student’s report card.  If you are new to the district, the information is included with this mailing.

Our school theme this year is "You are Super," based around a super hero theme.  We will be welcoming Amy Logan (a local
author), the second week of school for a special student assembly.  Her message, "You have the powers to make a difference in the world" ties right into our theme

Important Transportation Update: In cooperation with our local law enforcement, as well as the District 308 Transportation
Center, we have been evaluating our transporation procedures over a period of time.  Beginning with the 2016/2017 school year, buses will now load and unload in the front of the building, while car riders will load and unload along the back of the building.  Students who walk or ride bikes will exit from the Gymnasium.  The district will have proper signage in place and we will provide additional reinforcement with staff for the first few days of school as everyone becomes acclimated.  Implementing this new route will help our students who walk home cross the street in a safe manner, due to decreased traffic along Hunt Club Drive.  Doing so eliminates the potential for traffic violations, such as improper u-turns, or parking by the building/neighborhood to meet a student near school grounds.  All of these challenges promote safety concerns, while impacting the efficiency of our dismissal.  We appreciate your cooperation as we employ these new procedures.

Next month, join us on Preview Night, Monday, August 15, from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M.  Come stroll through the building, locate your child(ren)’s classroom(s), and chat with friends and neighbors.  Home and School will also have display tables of interest in the gym (and ice cream will be provided), so be sure to check them out while you are here.

Let’s make 2016-2017 the best school year yet!

Mr. Haddock
