Dear Hunt Club Parents and Guardians,
It has been a wonderful summer, and school is just around the corner! Hunt Club Elementary School staff have been working diligently to prepare for the arrival of all your children. The start of the 2018-2019 school year is fast approaching.
We are eager to kick the school year with the theme “BE all that you can BE” while still focusing on Growth Mindset. (For example, “Be a leader! Be respectful! Be responsible! Be kind! Be yourself!”) Our school theme lends itself to a perfect connection to the overall importance of social and emotional learning. At Hunt Club, we will continue to focus on the whole child, by meeting their needs both socially and academically. We will accomplish this goal by continuing to focus on building connections and maintaining relationships with our students.
Our staff will be taking a ride on The Energy Bus this year. We will be working with staff to help create and maintain positive energy for all of our students and with one another throughout the school year. This inspiration comes from The book entitled, The Energy Bus by Jon Gordon. We are looking to cultivate positive energy throughout the 2018-2019 school year.
District 308 recently announced a change to the start and end times for elementary schools. Beginning this school year, we will start at 9:00 A.M. and end at 3:50 P.M. Students who arrive to school via bus, car, or by walking can arrive as early as 8:30 A.M. and will remain in the gymnasium until 15 minutes before the start of the school day.
The first day of school begins on Wednesday, August 15th for all grades. Please join us on Preview Night, Monday, August 13th, from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. Come stroll through the building, locate your child(ren)’s classroom(s), drop off school supplies, and chat with friends and neighbors. Our Home & School Organization, along with other community partners, will also have display tables of interest in the gym, so be sure to check them out while you are here. We will be collecting information from you regarding transportation in order to ensure a smooth dismissal process as we begin the school year.
Let’s make the 2018-2019 a great school year!
Mr. Patrick Haddock, Principal
