Principal

I am excited to be starting my first year as principal at Prairie Point Elementary School.  Prior to coming to Prairie Point, I served as principal of a private school in Joliet for 8 years.  Before becoming a principal my background was in special education.  I began my teaching career working with elementary students in Elgin and then taught in schools in Hillside and Wilmette.  I worked as a special education administrator for the Proviso Area for Exceptional Children for 6 years before accepting my first principal position.  I earned my undergraduate degree from Bradley University in Elementary Education.  I completed all of my graduate work at Loyola University in Chicago, receiving a Master’s Degree in Special Education and a Doctorate of Education in Administration and Supervision.   Having lived in Oswego for the past 11 years, I am very excited to bring my leadership skills home to my community.  I look forward to meeting and working with the teachers, students and families of Prairie Point!

Special Education Coordinator

I am privileged and excited to be a part of District 308 and their special education team as the new Special Education Coordinator at both Lakewood Creek and Prairie Point Schools.  As a graduate of Illinois State University with a degree in Deaf Education,  I began my teaching career in the south suburbs of Chicago at a large special education regional program working in all areas of special education.  I worked there for 11 years.  I continued my education at Concordia University graduating with a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration.  I began my administrative career in 2007 as an Assistant Principal for mulit-needs students.    For the last five years, I was the Principal for a pre-K through high school Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program.

My goal is to see each student grow and learn. I look forward to working in partnership with the teachers, students and parents in District 308.
