Principal

I feel very privileged to have served as the principal at Prairie Point Elementary School since the 2016-2017 school year.  Prior to coming to Prairie Point, I served as principal of a private school in Joliet for eight years.  Before becoming a principal my background was in special education.  I began my teaching career working with elementary students in Elgin and then taught in schools in Hillside and Wilmette.  I then worked as a special education administrator for the Proviso Area for Exceptional Children for six years before accepting my first principal position.  I earned my undergraduate degree from Bradley University in Elementary Education.  I completed all of my graduate work at Loyola University in Chicago, receiving a Master’s Degree in Special Education and a Doctorate of Education in Administration and Supervision.   Living in the Oswego, I feel very fortunate to work with wonderful teachers, students and families at school as well as within the community.

Special Education Coordinator - Early Learning Center

Welcome to the students, staff and families of Brokaw Early Learning Center! I am very excited to serve as your Early Childhood Special Education Coordinator at Brokaw Early Learning Center and Prairie Point Elementary School.

I come to District 308 with 13 years of experience in the field of special education. Following completion of my bachelor's degree in special education from Illinois State University, I taught for five years with the Grundy County Special Education Cooperative.  I then completed my master's degree in educational administration at Governors State University and served as Program Coordinator for the students, staff and families of Grundy county for four years.  In addition to my time there, I served in the role of Assistant Principal/Special Education Administrator for three years at Bonnie McBeth Learning Center in Plainfield, IL.

It is truly an honor to be part of the Oswego 308 School District and I look forward to working with families and staff to ensure the individual needs of each student are met.  Please feel free to contact me at any time if you have questions, concerns, suggestions, or celebrations you would like to share.  Wishing everyone a wonderful school year!
