Principal

It was my honor and privilege to become the principal of Lakewood Creek Elementary School in fall 2014. After graduating with a bachelor’s degree from Illinois State University, Normal, I started my teaching career as a middle school teacher in Plainfield, Ill. I spent 15 years as a middle school teacher before becoming a differentiation specialist at the elementary level, also in Plainfield. I earned my master’s degree at Northern Illinois University, DeKalb, in 2004, and I was hired as the assistant principal of Fox Chase Elementary School in fall 2005. The following year, I became the principal of Old Post Elementary School. During my tenure in both Oswego and Plainfield, I have had opportunities and experiences that have allowed me to continue my own education and professional growth. Lakewood Creek Elementary School is filled with wonderful children who enjoy learning and create an awesome school environment.

Assistant Principal

I am happy to be the assistant principal of Lakewood Creek Elementary School. I have been in the education field since 1988. I received my bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Western Illinois University, Macomb, and a master’s degree in educational administration from University of St. Francis, Joliet, Ill. My teaching career started in 1988 as an early childhood teacher. I joined School District 308 in 2000 as part of the Early Bird Early Childhood program and then became a first grade teacher in 2001 at The Wheatlands Elementary School when the building opened. In 2005 I was appointed as the assistant principal of The Wheatlands and was there until 2014. I am excited to get to know the students and families of Lakewood Creek and look forward to serving and growing with the community.

Special Education Coordinator

I am privileged and excited to be a part of District 308 and their special education team as the new Special Education Coordinator at both Lakewood Creek and Prairie Point Schools.  As a graduate of Illinois State University with a degree in Deaf Education,  I began my teaching career in the south suburbs of Chicago at a large special education regional program working in all areas of special education.  I worked there for 11 years.  I continued my education at Concordia University graduating with a Master’s Degree in Educational Administration.  I began my administrative career in 2007 as an Assistant Principal for mulit-needs students.    For the last five years, I was the Principal for a pre-K through high school Deaf and Hard of Hearing Program.

My goal is to see each student grow and learn. I look forward to working in partnership with the teachers, students and parents in District 308.
