My name is James Smith. I have had the wonderful opportunity to work in School District #308 for the past 16 years.  I began my teaching career in Alternative Education at Oswego East High School.  I am also endorsed in the field of Drivers Education.  I have helped over 2800 students obtain their driver's license, stressing the importance of driver safety. I enjoy teaching the students of GOAL.  The small classroom environment allows me the opportunity to connect with my students. This connection allows me to build a positive and supportive relationship with the many students I encounter throughout the year. 

A little more about me!  

I have lived in this area my entire life. I am happily married going into my 40th year.   My three wonderful children have since moved on with their adult lives, but continue to stay somewhat close to home.  I like to relax by playing golf on the weekends, and spending time being a "Grandpa."
