While at The Wheatlands, Dr. Sparlin spent time drawing aliens in an art class, reading to several classes (Did you know Giraffe's CAN Dance?!), participating in a Readers Theater production of Davey Crockpot (an imaginative tall tale), playing along in a four corners activity for spelling, and engaging with many students and staff members. Dr. Sparlin even got an invite to dinner at a kindergartner's house!

"The time I spend sitting with students, having conversations with kids about growing up, hearing about lesson plans and creative writing, and meeting and visiting with teachers and staff is such a highlight to my day," said Dr. Sparlin. "It warms my heart to have small glimpses back into the teacher experience, as I was once there myself."

Dr. Sparlin continues his visits weekly in schools, staying connected to what's happening in the classes, and taking time to meet staff members and hear about their amazing work with students.
