Something that we can all agree on is that we should all be showing good character in the day to day. As adults, we should show respect to each other, we are responsible for many things in our jobs and lives, we are citizens of this community, and we should be people who can be trusted. The same is goes for the little wolves we’ve got here at The Wheatlands! We are helping set the foundation for a life of TeRRiFiCC character. This past week we celebrated Character Counts by featuring the six different Character Counts Pillars of Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship.
At The Wheatlands we have a Character Counts matrix that we use to talk about character and these six pillars. Check it out below to see what things we are trying to show them at school that we hope will carry into the future in all aspects of their lives. This starts all the way in kindergarten with simple things like reminding them to be kind to each other and say nice words for caring, all the way up to fifth grade remembering to bring their AVID folders to and from school and take notes during class responsibly. All of our actions can come back to good character. Someone once said that character is who you are when no one is looking. Let’s teach these little wolves to be AMAZING!
