Press Release: Oswego Boys Swim and Dive Co-op - Combined IHSA State Champions
Oswego, Ill. (February 26, 2019)
SD308 is extremely proud of its Oswego Boys Swim and Dive Co-op team on winning the Combined IHSA State Championship over the weekend of February 22-23, 2019. The athletes placed in the following categories at the meet: Swimming, Diving, and Athletes with Disabilities Swimming.
State qualifiers included: Marshall Hodge (OE, sophomore), Jalen Kaku (OE, senior), Austin Millard (OH, sophomore) and Max Padlo (OE, senior). Austin Millard finished 8th in the State in the 200yd Freestyle, earning All-State Honors and 20th in the 500yd Freestyle. Jalen Kaku finished 24 in Diving. Max Padlo finished 10th in Diving, earning All-State Honors. Marshall Hodge is the State Champion in AWD Class B 200yd Freestyle, State Champion in AWD Class B 100 yd Freestyle, State Champion in AWD Class A 100yd Breaststroke, placed 3rd in AWD Class B 50yd Freestyle, and earned All-State Honors in all 4 events.
The Oswego Co-op Boys Swim and Dive Program, led by Coaches Deryl Leubner, Head Coach, Bob Provost, Diving Coach, and Bob Sprunger, Assistant Coach put in an incredible amount of time and work over the course of the last year. They represent both Oswego East High School and Oswego High School and the entire community extremely well - both in the pool and out!
