Peter Meismer

Oswego, Ill. (July 22, 2020) — Oswego Community Unit School District 308 Board of Education approved at their July 13, 2020 board meeting Peter Meismer as Assistant Principal at Hunt Club Elementary School for the 2020-21 school year.

“Pete Meismer has worked with and in SD 308 for the past 11 years in a variety of roles: teacher assistant, teacher, coordinator, trainer, and program administrator,” said Dr. Lindsay Allen, Director of Elementary Education.  “His child-centered approach, knowledge of instruction, and expertise with special education, AVID, ACEs, and SEL make him the perfect candidate at Hunt Club.”

Most recently, Meismer instructed math, reading, and writing for students at The Wheatlands Elementary School in SD 308 as an Elementary Resource Teacher. In October of 2019, he took the role of the Special Education Program Administrator at Oswego High School and also held the position of the Extended School Year (ESY) Site Coordinator.

Meismer obtained his Bachelor of Science in Education at Northern Illinois University, Dekalb, Illinois, and his Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership from Aurora University, Aurora, Illinois.

“I am thrilled to be joining the Hunt Club team for the 2020-2021 school year! I feel fortunate to be in a position to lead and support staff as they work with students to develop their individual visions and plans for success. I am looking forward to supporting all students and helping them to celebrate their individual and group accomplishments. Our school community is a special place and I am grateful for the opportunity to serve as Assistant Principal at Hunt Club,” said Meismer.
