Oswego, Ill. (February 19, 2021) — The Allied First Bank Crosstown Challenge traveling trophy was presented to Oswego High School for the 2019-2020 school year, accepted by Oswego High School Principal Chris Grays, at the girls varsity crosstown basketball game on February 17, 2021.  Present at the game for the presentation were:  Dr. John Sparlin, Superintendent of Schools; Chris Grays, Principal of OHS; Laura Bankowski, Principal of OEHS; Darren Howard, District Athletic Director; and Kevin Senechalle, Allied First Bank.

Allied First Bank sponsors the annual Crosstown Challenge, which is made up of regular season competitions throughout the school year, between Oswego High School and Oswego East High School, in boys and girls varsity sports. The school with the most wins across all Crosstown Challenge competitions is awarded the traveling trophy. The trophy is traditionally awarded in the fall at the crosstown football game, but due to COVID, the presentation this year was delayed.  The Crosstown Challenge Trophy was first presented to Oswego High School for the 2006-2007 school year.

In addition to the trophy, Allied First Bank is proud to present each athletic department a check for $2,500 for their participation and will be presenting $10,000 in scholarships to graduating seniors from both OHS and OEHS in the spring. Over the past 15 years, the Bank has given out more than $425,000 in scholarships and donations to students at both High School

We thank Allied First Bank for its continued support of the Oswego schools and athletics.
