 Megan Summitt     Cole Counihan

Oswego, Ill. (March 25, 2021) — Waubonsee Community College recently hosted the Illinois Drafting Educators Association (I.D.E.A.) Regional Competition for VALEES high school students in Career and Technical Education (CTE) programs within the CAD/Drafting or Project Lead the Way (PLTW) pre-engineering Programs of Study. The competition was conducted virtually due to the pandemic.

Congratulations to the following students from Oswego East High School for having placed at this competition: Megan Summitt, 1st Place (Assembly Modeling) and Cole Counihan, 3rd Place (3d Modeling). Both students will be competing at the upcoming state competition on April 16-17, 2021 coordinated by Illinois State University.

I.D.E.A. Regional Competition Director and Assistant Professor of Computer Aided Design and Drafting, Randy Hines, organized the competition at Waubonsee Community College and business and industry professionals and adjunct faculty within the college’s program served as competition judges.

Congratulations to both Megan and Cole and good luck at State!
