Dr. LaTonya C. Davis Selected as Thompson Junior High School Assistant Principal
Oswego, Ill. (June 8, 2021) Oswego Community Unit School District 308 Board of Education has approved Dr. LaTonya C. Davis as the new assistant principal at Thompson Junior High School effective July 1, 2021.
Davis began her educational career as a seventh and eighth grade Math Teacher in 1994. Since then, she has held various other positions including: Project Success Teacher, Block Teacher, Coordinator of Summer Bridge Program, Athletic Director, Dean of Students (summer school), Lead Dean of Students and most recently as Dean of Students at Larkin High School, Elgin, Illinois. "We are excited to welcome Dr. LaTonya Davis as Assistant Principal at Thompson Junior High,” said Shannon Lueders, Director of Junior High Education. “Dr. Davis has many years of experience as a Dean of Students and will contribute greatly to the Thompson administrative team."
Dr. Davis obtained a Bachelor of Arts, Secondary Education/English, Bradley University, Peoria, Illinois; Masters of Arts Degree in Educational Administration, Concordia University, River Forest, Illinois; and her Doctorate Degree in Educational Leadership, Aurora University, Aurora, Illinois. “I am very excited and thrilled to join SD 308 because together we can continue to positively impact the lives of our future leaders,” said Dr. Davis. “It also excites me to meet new people and foster everlasting educational relationships and opportunities in a district that is continuing to thrive. I am anxious to meet and grow with the Thompson Junior High family and community so that together our mission and value of education can be tied and bonded to support our children.”
