Board of Education Approves Adam D. Lester as Bednarcik Junior High School Assistant Principal

Oswego, Ill. (July 13, 2021) — Oswego Community Unit School District 308 Board of Education has approved Adam D. Lester as the new Assistant Principal at Bednarcik Junior High School for the 2021-2022 school year.

Lester’s professional, educational experience began in 2007 at Willowbrook High School, Villa Park, Illinois. Most recently, Lester has held the role as an Instructional Coach at Batavia High School (2019-2021) where he served multiple roles for teachers as an Instructional Specialist, Data Coach, and Learning Facilitator. “I'm excited and grateful for the opportunity to join the family at Bednarcik Junior High, said Adam Lester. “As an assistant principal, I'm looking forward to the opportunity to support the students, staff, and community of Bednarcik while empowering our students to own their learning and follow their passions.”

Over his career, Lester has taught 28 English classes at three different high schools, including two (2) AP Classes and a Dual-Credit Class; 13 years as a high school English classroom teacher; eight (8) years as an English Department Teacher Leader, one (1) being as District Instructional Coach; and two (2) years as a Certified Evaluator in the Danielson Framework for Teacher Evaluations.

Lester earned his Bachelor of Arts in English from Illinois State University, Normal, Illinois; Type 09 Initial Teaching Certificate, Governors State University, University Park, Illinois; Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership-Principal Preparation, Aurora University, Aurora, Illinois.

“Mr. Lester has extensive experience as an instructional coach and secondary English teacher,” said Shannon Lueders, Director of Junior High Education. “These experiences make him an excellent addition to the Bednarcik leadership team.”
