Kristen E. Salwierak Selected as
Boulder Hill Elementary School Assistant Principal
Oswego, Ill. (August 27, 2021) — Oswego Community Unit School District 308 Board of Education approved Kristen E. Salwierak as the new assistant principal at Boulder Hill Elementary School at its Board of Education meeting on Monday, August 23, 2021.
Salwierak joins SD 308 after having been in the role of Assistant Principal at Central Middle School, Tinley Park, Illinois. She began her educational career as a science teacher at Central Middle School, where she held that position for ten years. In 2016, she took on the role of Dean of Students, also at Central Middle School, until she transitioned to being an Instructional Coach in 2018 where she assisted with the implementation of social emotional interventions for students in Tier II and Tier III interventions. “Ms. Salwierek's administrator and leadership experience includes being an Instructional Coach, Middle School Dean of Students and Middle School Assistant Principal,” said Dr. Lindsay Allen, Director of Elementary Education. “Her work with and dedication to diverse populations will be an asset to the Boulder Hill community.”
Ms. Salwierak obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Governors State University, University Park, Illinois; Master’s in Curriculum and Instruction, Concordia University, Chicago, Illinois; and Master’s in Principal Leadership, Governors State University, University Park, Illinois. “I am so happy to be joining the SD 308 family,” said Salwierak, “and am thrilled to be working with elementary students and supporting them in any way that I can. I look forward to building up our school community and am excited to promote a positive learning culture. My family motto is: Every moment counts, we appreciate every day we have, and don't take a moment for granted. One of my favorite quotes is, ‘It is in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped,’ by Tony Robbins. I plan on bringing this thinking with me to Boulder Hill Elementary as I support students, staff and families in their learning experiences.”
Mission Statement: In partnership with our families and communities, Community Unit School District 308 will educate all students to reach their highest potential.
